Short Wave Listening and Scanner radio Frequencies
A Word of
WARNING to mobile
scanner and Amateur mobile radio users :
If you get stopped for any reason by a police officer, and he / she notice a scanner or a radio that looks like a scanner (Your Ham Rig) in your
vehicle, may ask for proof of your license. (Amateur Radio, or a permit that gives you the right to have a scanner in your vehicle).
In some States they can seize and hold for evidence your Ham Radio, which means you may never see it again.
You should always carry your FCC issued Station / Operator License,
Press credentials, or other license/ permits with you at all times while mobile.
Keeping a copy of your State law regarding mobile scanner use in your glove compartment would also be a good idea, just in case.
Also, if you travel, you should know the laws of those states as well.
Here are some web page that have the different State Scanner Laws available for download and printing. I highly recommend Todd's page. It has a lot of
useful information on scanner laws.
Eddie's Frequency Web Page.
From Eddies page You can do a quick search for any of the 50 State search and/or add Police Scanner
